Russian Federal Security Service ( FSB ) officers detained U.S. citizen Paul Whelan in the Russian capital during a spy action, the FSB's press service said on Monday. In Albay, three people, including a three-year-old boy, died when rain soaked soil and debris collapsed and buried them in Barangay (village) San Francisco in Legazpi City. Government forecasters said Sunday that heavy rain would continue over the next 24 hours in the northern Philippines . The most recent major quake disaster to strike the Philippines was in 2013 when a 7.1-magnitude quake left more than 220 people dead and destroyed historic churches in the central islands. (more...)

Officials said an animal husbandry team led by a keeper was doing a routine cleaning when one of the lions managed to get out of a locked space, according to WTVD-TV . It is not yet clear how the lion escaped. The facility was founded in 1999 and is in Burlington, about 50 miles northwest of Raleigh. The investigation is ongoing. (more...)

We have terminated the employment of the two men involved in the mistreatment of Mr. According to The Oregonian , Paul Peralta , general manager of the DoubleTree tried to reach out to Massey.
