New Zealand's Tim Price was the best of the rest as British eventers completed a shut-out at the Burghley Horse Trials in England. Fellow Briton Gemma Tattersall held the lead for most of the day on the ex-racehorse Arctic Soul with one of only three rounds inside the time and she is within a rail of Townend going into tomorrow's final jumping phase with 43.0 penalties. The man who was in the living room went to hospital with "severe lower limb injuries". Four people in the United Kingdom were hospitalised when a auto smashed through the side of a house and burst into flames. A woman who was in the house was uninjured but one other man in the house was seriously hurt - although his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. (more...)

They found the sites to either be underwater or showing signs they were inundated before floodwaters receded. They were able to visit two locations in Corpus Christi on Thursday, they said, but found no significant damage. The 13 affected sites have industrial waste from petrochemical companies, acid compounds, solvents and pesticides. EPA Director Scott Pruitt said earlier this year that cleaning up Superfund sites was a priority for him, though he also backed a budget that would cut his ... (more...)

Sunday. A 5-year-old boy and his 2-year-old brother were also found dead inside. According to the police report, a man was able to escape from a bedroom window and has been hospitalized for his injuries. He was taken to the hospital. A State Police Fire Marshal is on scene trying to determine the cause of this deadly fire. The names of the victims have not been released. (more...)

Cops say that at around 6 a.m. today, a knife-wielding 39-year-old man on a southbound express C train leaving 125th Street tried to steal a knapsack and cellphone from a 28-year-old man. The Logan County Sheriff's Department was contacted by the administration at Logan High School Thursday concerning the possibility of a teacher at the high school sending inappropriate photos to several of the male students. Miller is originally from Boone County. Authorities said that Miller "admitted to sending the photos", WSAZ reported, adding, "She said most of the photos had been sent through a social media app".
