Spanish motorway closed by escaped elephants

General Director of Traffic at the Interior Ministry Gregorio Serrano posted a video of the injured elephant being lifted to safety on Twitter. Elephants are loose on the tarmac. "Shortly the A30 will be reopened", Serrano said. It said (in Spanish) that they are being looked after by the local authority until they can be transferred. (more...)

Response: Medical and adult-use marijuana laws have the potential to lower opioid prescribing for Medicaid enrollees, a high-risk population for chronic pain, opioid use disorder, and opioid overdose . That's about 39 fewer prescriptions per 1,000 people using Medicaid. The other study looked at opioid prescribing nationwide for people using Medicare , which covers people 65 years or older and those with disabilities. (more...)

The self declared leader of National Resistance Movement Miguna Miguna left Dubai for Toronto on air Canada flight last evening, ending his constant threats to fly back to Kenya. The impasse was precipitated by his refusal to sign immigration papers and have his Canadian passport stamped. On how Mr Miguna might have lost his Canadian passport, Mr Ombeta said: "Most likely he lost it during the scuffle that ensued at JKIA". (more...)

Baker Says State Police Troop E Eliminated In Wake Of Overtime Scandal

This comes after at least 30 of the troopers from Troop E were allegedly paid in 2016 for shifts they did not actually work. Baker said Monday that if either investigation - the attorney general's criminal probe or the internal State Police investigation - finds that a trooper who retired violated the law or State Police policies, "they should lose their pensions". He said they were attending a graduation ceremony. Taliban denies its members were targeted, saying the attack killed and wounded 150 civilians.
