Under TfL's proposals these would be replaced by a new five tier structure created to ensure operators pay fees commensurate to the resources required to regulate their businesses. It will be based on the size of the operators fleet, and split into five tiers rather than the current two. For those with more than 20 vehicles, the fee would rise to a massive £22,104 for a five year licence - according to TfL figures, there are just under a thousand operators with fleets between 20 and 1000 ... Hayes testified that he believed Will Smith fired a gunshot in his direction first, from what appeared to be a black revolver. The sentences will run concurrently. Hayes got a 15-year sentence for the attempted manslaughter charge and a 25-year sentence for manslaughter. Cardell Hayes' defense team asked for a new trial on Wednesday, a request that was denied by the judge. (more...)
