Three people are dead and at least six others injured following a shooting at a Florida graduation party the latest in a string of such violence in

A state corrections officer and two others are dead following a shooting early Sunday. The shooting happened about 2 a.m.in the suburb of Kendall.

An all-points bulletin was issued for a dark-colored Chevrolet Malibu and a white Toyota Camry witnesses saw speeding away from the chaotic scene, police said.

Taylor had worked at Dade Correctional Institution since January 2020.

She was rushed to a local hospital where she died, according to the report.

One of the victims who was shot and died in hospital was a female corrections officer. "Our prayers are with her family as they navigate this unimaginable loss".

A vehicle then sped off and crashed into a wall at the nearby Miami Dade College Kendall campus. A firearm was reportedly found inside that auto, according to police.

"There was some sort of graduation party occurring that was just finishing in the parking lot of the strip mall behind me". Ramirez said at least one vehicle pulled into the parking lot near where the party took place and began opening fire. Authorities found at least one gun in the auto, but its exact connection to the shooting was unclear.

"It doesn't just affect the community, it affects the law enforcement community as well".

Two more people inside a auto that was fleeing the scene died after it crashed and three others in the vehicle were injured, Detective Angel Rodriguez told CNN.

"We all have to band together. This violence has to stop", Ramirez said.

He added: "And this is extremely frustrating".

Ramirez expressed his frustration, saying, "Every weekend, it's the same thing".

"The safety and wellbeing of all our families and neighborhoods is my top priority, and we must put an end to this cycle of violence and senseless killings", Levine Cava said in a statement.

"We will not allow a small group of violent actors to terrorize our community, and violent offenders will face the full weight of the law", she said in a statement Sunday.

One of those killed was a state corrections officer, Miami-Dade police Director Alfredo "Freddy" Ramirez told news outlets.

Police are investigating whether three teens who were arrested for a shooting that left one person injured were also involved in a deadly shooting outside a hookah bar in Miami-Dade County, officials said Monday.
