31 new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health

Ontario is reporting 847 new cases of COVID-19 in the province and 10 more deaths related to the virus.

The total of those under active public health surveillance due to direct COVID-19 is at 7,238.

These figures include the denotification of one death and 12 cases.

As of midnight, Monday, February 15, the HPSC has been notified of 744 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

There are 192 cases in Dublin, 53 in Galway, 50 in Meath, 46 in Kildare and 46 in Cork.

There have been 49 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.


Of the 695,629 people who have received some COVID-19 vaccine in Minnesota, 246,431 have completed the two-dose series. The number of Minnesota hospital intensive care beds filled with COVID-19 patients has declined to 54 from a peak of 399 on December 1.

Some 180,192 people have received their first dose, while 91,750 people have got their second dose.

Dr Ronan Glynn, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health saidL "Although we have made great progress, the situation remains precarious".

British Columbia health officials announced 427 new test-positive COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the province to 74,710.

Marc Brisson of Universite Laval says Quebec's choice to relax health orders on February 8 could result in a sharp rise in the number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths if a variant takes hold.

He added: "This underlines the need for people to exercise caution in households and other settings".
