Warner Bros Announces The Release Date & It’s Coming Sonner Than You Think!

Legendary Unveils New Godzilla vs. Kong Poster Trailer Coming Sunday

Godzilla vs Kong is the 36th film in the Godzilla franchise and the 12th film in the King Kong franchise.

When it was announced that Godzilla vs. Kong had been moved up to a March 26, 2021 release date, I was very concerned because we had no official poster (aside from a teaser) and, more troubling, no official trailer. Expect the trailer to arrive around the typical 10:30-11pm Warner time slot.

Seeing as this is a Warner Bros. release, Godzilla vs Kong, just like the entirety of the studio's 2020 film slate, will be hitting both HBO Max in the United States and worldwide cinema markets on the same day. It will be available on HBO Max and in U.S. cinemas on the same day, and only in cinemas everywhere else, including in India.

Godzilla vs Kong will be a hybrid release in the United States just like Wonder Woman 1984 which means it will release in cinemas as well as on HBO Max. And if you enjoy listening to film podcasts, why not check out our podcasts, Small Screen Stories and Small Screen Film Club wherever you get your podcasts!

This trailer will be the first full trailer for the movie released and while nobody knows exactly what's going to happen in the movie, one thing is clear: Godzilla and Kong have a bone to pick with each other. Kong is dominating the skyline while Godzilla appears to be making a beeline for his king-sized rival from the sea (his preferred method of approach). Unfortunately, the movie was a financial disappointment, grossing only $385.9 million against a budget estimated to be as high as $200 million.

Godzilla vs. Kong is now slated to release March 26 in cinemas worldwide. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans' origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever. In India, it will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
