The inauguration will look different from other presidential inaugurations because of last week's riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Both President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are expected to speak on the programme. The duo wrote the song during coronavirus lockdown and Timberlake recorded his vocals on election night back in November.
Demi Lovato has not confirmed which song she will be performing.
The Hanks-hosted primetime special on Wednesday January 20 will start at 8:30 pm Eastern Time (0130 GMT Thursday) and will be aired on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC.

Allen declared: 'This inauguration presents a unique opportunity to spotlight the resilience and spirit of an America United'. "We have witnessed countless heroes this past year step up to the frontlines and serve their fellow Americans, so we are telling their stories, spreading their collective light and celebrating the best of our country and its people with this prime-time program".
The virtual inauguration itself will highlight the strength of democracy, applaud national unity in times of crisis, and celebrate American heroes who emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a statement from the inaugural committee.
