Three former United States presidents reflect on Inauguration Day

Former Presidents Obama Bush Clinton share message of unity for President Biden

The former First Lady and former President Barack Obama made their arrival to Washington, D.C. Wednesday morning to watch President Joe Biden officially become the next president of the U.S. Michelle's outfit choice has been the talk of social media because of its elegance and ability to grab attention.

In an official statement released on January 20, 2021, she wrote, "After a disturbing era of chaos and division, we are entering the next chapter of American leadership with the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris".

Hudson also designed part of Vice President Kamala Harris' outfit as well, according to Marie Claire.

"We gotta not just listen to folks we agree with but listen to folks we don't". "It was a reminder that we can have fierce disagreements and yet recognise each other's common humanity and that as Americans we have more in common than what separates us", Obama, a Democrat, said.

"I think if Americans would love their neighbour like they liked to be loved themselves, a lot of the division in our society would end", Bush said. "And no one person, even a president, is capable of waving a magic wand and fixing the problems that persist in this country".

In the less than 24 hours that Biden has been President, he has already taken steps to return the USA to the global Paris Agreement to fight climate change.

"I'm glad you're there and I wish you well". Jimmy Carter, 96, stayed away due to Covid concerns but sent a message of congratulations. "Your success is our country's success and God bless you". We wish you Godspeed.

Mr Trump, in comparison, broke precedent and left the White House for Mar-a-Lago in Florida without attending the inauguration.

"Joe, I'm proud of you", Obama said of his former vice president.

In his farewell address on Wednesday, Trump did not name Biden, but said he wished the "new administration great luck and great success".
