TCL's 20 series will eventually include more models, but the company is kicking off the family of phones with the affordable TCL 20 5G and the TCL 20 SE. It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690G chipset along with 6GB of RAM.

It has an Mediatek Helio P22 processor with 4GB RAM, running Android 11 on a 4,000mAh battery, and will launch in "selected markets around the world" in Jewelry Blue and Jewelry Black colours with a European price of €149. There's a small waterdrop notch on the top with an 8MP selfie camera tucked inside.

The company's proprietary NXTPAPER technology, announced last fall at IFA 2020 in Berlin, achieves stunning display performance with a highly reflective IPS screen that utilizes innovative TCL technology to reuse natural light, resulting in vivid, full-color reproduction with no blue light or flicker. Expect to see a global rollout in February, though United States availability has yet to be confirmed.

TCL 20 SEThe affordable new TCL 20 SE has all of the features associated with an advanced smartphone, along with a superior video entertainment system for those looking to take their A/V experiences on-the-go. The big 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD display of the phone looks huge with a center-aligned punch hole camera. They come with 32GB and 64GB of storage, respectively.

The device is fueled by an octa-core SoC, and it comes with a 5,500mAh battery on the inside. The front-facing camera will be 13MP or 8MP. USA availability has yet to be confirmed, but a representative for the company told us some of the 20 series will make its way to the US.

TCL will also be launching a 5G tablet later in the year. We will get a quad-rear camera setup at the back that will include 48MP f/2.0 or 16MP f/1.8 main sensor, a 5MP wide-angle, and two 2MP sensors. The company also says its developing tools that allows TCL phones to effectively mirror their displays onto tablets and TCL televisions, along with features that lean on Bluetooth, WiFi and NFC to facilitate dead-simply transfers between phones and PCs.

The second TCL tablet introduced today, the Tab 10S is a larger one.

And, while maximized video entertainment and power are the foundations of the TCL 20 SE, the device's quad rear camera comes with AI-powered color portrait and sky enhancement features, which are created to automatically detect the intended subjects and adjust the background for more attractive shots.
