An Iowa man who was reportedly captured on camera chasing a police officer through the Capitol building during Wednesday's riots has been identified and arrested.
He was armed with only a baton at the time. As the rioters encroached menacingly close to him and the door to the Senate floor to his left, Goodman made a quick glance in that direction, then led the mindless mob to the right and away from the legislators who were still being evacuated to safety.
In the video below - shared to Twitter by HuffPost reporter Igor Bobic - a man police believe to be Jensen can be seen wearing a black Q-Anon t-shirt and black cap as he chases USCP Officer Eugene Goodman through the building.
As Goodman held them back, the Post reported, police were trying to lock down more than a dozen doors that led to the chamber and the galleries above. I hope @SpeakerPelosi @SenSchumer @WhipClyburn consider him for the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Goodman, who is an Army veteran and a father, did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
Per news releases from the FBI's field office in Omaha, Nebraska, and the county sheriff's office, Jensen was booked into the Polk County Jail early Saturday on five federal charges, including trespassing and disorderly conduct counts. In front of the officer, coming up the stairs, is a mass of rioters.
A second Capitol Police officer later died by apparent suicide, but it's unclear if his death was related to Wednesday's violence. The agency has not publicly identified Goodman to CNN or other outlets.
