Xiaomi confirms November 26 launch for new Redmi Note 9 smartphones

Recently, Lenovo has teased the release of its new smartphone series. This phone, which will be named "Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G", will actually be a reconfigured Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite. Speculations are that the Redmi Note 9 series will include Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. However, it's expected to be part of the Lenovo Lemon series - a mid-range offering with a couple of premium features. In related news, Xiaomi started rolling out Android 11 update to Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. This date was confirmed by the company via Chinese microblogging website Weibo that also shared the poster to reveal the design of the upcoming smartphone. Per a TENAA listing, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chip and it will be mated with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The company also designed its teaser to make it look similar to Redmi's invite.

There is no indication provided by Lenovo regarding the launch of its new smartphones but going by the teaser revealed by Lenovo, the company may launch three new devices.

A recent survey showed that Chinese smartphones hold 76% market share.


The box is quite colorful and is a departure from the previous retail boxes we have seen Redmi use for its smartphones. The brand is flexing the unbelievable snaps captured on the Mi 10T series devices via Twitter and all of them look sharp and very creative. Now once again, they are bringing it back.

That said, the company is still working on rolling out new features for its devices running on MIUI 11 and MIUI 12. In the post, Xiaomi executive said, "As of now, we've sold 140 million Redmi Note smartphones worldwide since its inception in 2014, and the Redmi Note 8 series was the 2nd best-selling smartphone series in H1 2020!"
