TikTok Stars Charli and Dixie D'Amelio Getting Dino Nuggets, No Snails

TikTok star Dixie D'Amelio has responded to the backlash she received over a YouTube video featuring sister and fellow social media star Charli D'Amelio.

The D'Amelio's sat down for dinner in anticipation of a mystery guest, who turned out to be beauty influencer, James Charles.

D'Amelio has become the TikTok account to beat in terms of followers; a spoon has even been trying.

"It's classic paella, and it's actually an omen of good luck and fortune", Aaron told the table.

Subsequently, she posted a teary message on Instagram Live on Thursday (Nov 19) about what she termed a "misunderstanding".

Fans were not happy and called Dixie and Charli "brats", "privileged and unappreciative of a meal that a private chef made them", among other negative comments. "I knew she would try it, I knew she probably wouldn't like it".

Amid the backlash, Dixie issued an apology on TikTok, saying in a video, "My family and I have been working with Chef Aaron May for a couple of months now, working on content for our channel and working on content for his channel, and [we've] made an awesome friendship".

The outlet noted that the duo has lost hundreds of thousands of followers since the video was released.

"You can say I'm disrespectful, you can say I don't have basic human decency, but at the end of the day, I'm still a person", she said.

In the video, Dixie can be seen doing the usual stereotypical TikTok dances in an ironic way with audio from Trisha Paytas rapping along to NWA's "F*** the Police".

The teenager, who is the most followed person on TikTok, also addressed her comment in the viral video about wanting to reach 100 million followers on the app within the same year she reached 1 million.

Dixie also weighed in on the controversy by explaining her "spoiled" behaviour by the fact that she simply throws up "a lot".

Upon returning Dixie says that the food was "good, but then there was a salty part on it that was not good", adding, "it tastes like chicken, and then I tried the salty part and everything came up". So, now they're getting what they really want. dino nuggets!

Hours later, she took to Twitter, ready to move on. "I love Chef, and I would never disrespect him in any way".
