Listen to Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber's New Song 'Monster'

Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber Team Up for'Monster

The two young singers leave their emotions bare as they painfully ask what's the point of being placed on a pedestal to be adored by all when those same admirers will eventually relish in tearing them down.

"Monster" appears on Mendes' forthcoming 14-track album, Wonder, which is slated for release on December 4. In the video, Mendes and Bieber take the message in a literal direction, climbing atop an actual pedestal during a thunderstorm, standing both back-to-back and swaying apart while singing "Please don't let me fall".

"This song has always resonated with me and it just never found its way out. He was everything", Mendes said about he and Bieber's relationship in an interview with VMan.

"I was 15 when the world put me on a pedestal/ I had big dreams of doing shows and making memories", Bieber croons as the R&B beat swells.

He then explained about Bieber's involvement: "And his heart sank deep. I tried to be as real and as honest as I've ever been". And I called him and I was like, 'Look, I have this song. This is the human experience, "Mendes said".

Capital Breakfast host Sonny Jay reminded Mendes of the occurrence, to which he replied that he and Bieber have gotten closer amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Canadian pop pair have shared "Monster", which you can hear below.

"I wrote an album".

"I'm just competitive as is he so it was just a little playful jargon", he added.
