Lakers Agree to Three-Year Deal with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

He was the third-best Laker during the playoffs, and he has the same agent as LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Los Angeles Lakers will welcome Kentavious Caldwell-Pope back on a three-year, $40 million contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The only questions were years and money.

However, one player, from their supporting cast, who they aren't letting go of is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Caldwell-Pope re-signed with the Lakers in July 2019 on a two-year, $16.6 million deal that included an $8.5 million player option for the 2020-21 season, which he declined.

Caldwell-Pope averaged 9.3 points and 1.6 assists in 25.5 minutes per game while shooting 38.5% from deep with the Lakers last season.

Like most of his teammates, Caldwell-Pope is facing a challenge with the start of the 2020-21 National Basketball Association season set to begin on December 22, which marks the shortest offseason in league history.

And KCP still will be wearing Lakers colors when he gets his championship ring on December 22.
