Clemson's Swinney: 'COVID was just an excuse' for FSU to cancel game

The Clemson coach was fiery during a Sunday press conference, insisting the cancellation had nothing to do with COVID-19.

The NFL, so far, has made it through the season without canceling any games.

The game between No. 4 Clemson and Florida State was postponed hours before kickoff Saturday when medical personnel from both schools could not agree it was safe to play.

The postponement follows Saturday morning's game conference call. COVID was just an excuse to cancel the game."He added: "If FSU wants to play Clemson, they can home to Death Valley".

Star Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence was scheduled to make his first start since October 24. "We've demonstrated incredible commitment".
