Power Rangers reboot planned for movie and TV series

Power Rangers’ Newest Movie Reboot Is Now a TV Franchise Too

Hasbro's Entertainment One (eOne) announced today that producer and director Jonathan Entwistle has come on board to shepherd new Power Rangers movies and TV series.

Following the lackluster performance of Dean Israelite's POWER RANGERS in the box-office at 2017, programs to get a number of sequels were fought along with the franchise (and other Saban manufacturers ) had been offered to Hasbro in a multi-billion buck deal.

Entwistle called this new Power Rangers project an unbelievable opportunity to deliver the property to both new and existing generations of fans. "Across our slate, we are looking forward to working with the most talented storytellers as we take on Hasbro's rich fan-favourite brands and build entertainment universes around them". The toy company has It's The End Of The F--ing World and I Am Not Okay With This creator Jonathan Entwistle spearheading a drive for new movies and TV series. In addition to the new non-kid projects under Entwistle, Power Rangers Dino Fury is now in season two.

The Power Rangers last graced our cinema screens in 2017, with the film grossing over $142 million (£109 million) worldwide. However, a new article from The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Hasbro and Entwistle's plans are far greater than that, with Entwistle instead going to be in charge of shaping a new Power Rangers cinematic universe which will include both film and television properties that will share a connected story.

Entwistle is represented by CAA, 42, Grandview and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner & Klein.

Just a few years after the previous reboot attempt for the Power Rangers, eOne (Hasbro's entertainment branch) are moving forward with a new take on the franchise that will (hopefully) move it into the future as an interconnected universe consisting of new films and TV shows.

SABAN'S POWER RANGERS follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove - and the world - is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat.
