Zachery Ty Bryan taken into custody after allegedly strangling girlfriend

Former "Home Improvement" star Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested in OR on Saturday, accused of trying to strangle his girlfriend, according to reports.

OR police said officers were dispatched to an apartment on Friday night (Saturday NZT) after a report of a physical dispute.

Police officers were called to the couple's apartment and when they arrived the girlfriend was hiding out at a friend's home nearby.

Bryan allegedly "assaulted the victim, impeded her breathing, and [took] the victim's phone from her when she tried to call 911", police told E News.


"The victim declined medics".

The actor was booked into Lane County jail, per the AP, after 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

A message left with a possible agent for Bryan was not immediately returned.
