EXTRA: I may leave United States if I lose this election, says Trump

"In the key battleground states where this election will be decided, we remain neck and neck with Donald Trump".

Sounding pleased to be in friendly territory, Trump spoke for close to two hours, making sporadic references to the coronavirus pandemic, trade and the US economy.

Trump has praised his own response to the virus and argued that Biden would shut down the United States economy needlessly to fight it.

For years, Americans have threatened that if their candidate of choice isn't elected president, they will leave the country. Still, she was particularly bullish on Arizona on the call: "I know we're going to win Arizona", she said. "I'm not going to feel so good".

Maybe I'll have to leave the country?

Trailing in the polls and at a significant cash deficit compared with Biden, Trump attempted to argue that he was opting against raising more money as he enters the final stretch of the election.

"Today" anchor Savannah Guthrie grilled Trump on his pandemic response, as well as asking him to denounce white supremacy. "I would be the world's greatest fundraiser, but I just don't want to do it".

Biden had already set a fundraising record with $364.5 million in August.

Ahead of Trump's town hall, NBC received backlash for allowing the president a platform in the same time slot as Biden, whose town hall was announced first after Trump dropped out the debate. "I am honored to meet with the people of MI to discuss how the President will continue to fight for them for the next four years".

"All President Trump is offering the people of MI is more lies and distractions - no plan to get the virus under control, no strategy for pulling our economy out of this recession, no vision for uniting the country", he said.

Trump acknowledged his losses in the suburbs, seeming to link his slide to his divisive style.

According to RealClearPolitics, national polling shows that Biden has a commanding lead over Trump.

The IBD/TIPP nationwide monitoring ballot, launched Saturday, puts Biden at 50 percent within the head-to-head matchup, with Trump at 43 p.c.

"I never, ever want to have her as my enemy", said Trump.
