EA delays Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch, now coming 2021
Let's remember that Apex Legends will have cross-play on Nintendo Switch with the rest of the platforms, also including all the content released until the moment it arrives at the eShop.
Developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts have announced that Apex Legends will launch on Steam on November 4, alongside Season 7, while the Nintendo Switch version has been delayed.
The Switch version was initially scheduled for this fall, but due to "unexpected new challenges" that 2020 has brought, a delay was necessary.
This news is coming shortly after the implementation of crossplay, so Switch players will have to wait just a bit longer to join all of the other platforms in the Apex Games. Since then, fans have been patiently waiting for the game to launch on other platforms.
When is the Apex Legends Nintendo Switch Release Date?
For PC players, Apex Legends will hit Steam on 4 November. For now, you can look forward to the game making its way to Steam early next month; you can add Apex Legends to your wishlist on Steam to be notified of its launch right away.
While some EA games on Steam require Origin to be running in the background, Apex Legends won't be one of them, although you'll be able to link the game to your EA account as you do with Star Wars Squadrons.
From Respawn Entertainment they thank the community for their patience and their understanding of the complicated situation that the development of the game is going through in these moments of uncertainty.
