David Fincher's Mank gets a new trailer and poster
It is executive produced by Ceán Chaffin, Eric Roth and Douglas Urbanski with Peter Mavromates and William Doyle set as producers. To be fair, no one ever accused director David Fincher of producing lightly entertaining fare, so we tend to assume there's going to be a second trailer released at some point; one that'll come off decidedly darker in tone. It looks and feels like a movie from the 30s.
Hot on the heels of the Teaser Trailer arriving about two weeks ago, Netflix has now opted to drop a Full Trailer for their big Academy Awards pony, Mank. 1930s Hollywood re-evaluated through the eyes of scathing social critic and alcoholic screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz as he races to finish the screenplay of Citizen Kane for Orson Welles. "Mank" marks a uncommon alternative for Oldman to look pure on display and never should act by any excessive make-up or prosthetics. In an interview last month, Oldman revealed that part of the project terrified him.
When Welles asks if Mank is "prepared and keen to hunt the nice white whale", he responds, "Simply name me Ahab". However I didn't have something I may anchor to. No tricks. No nothing. "It's breathtaking even by David Fincher requirements".
"Mank" will start streaming December four on Netflix following a restricted theatrical launch in November. Watch the official trailer for the Fincher-directed drama under.
