Chadwick Boseman died without a will, wife files a probate case

Chadwick Boseman’s wife applies for rights to his multi-million-dollar estate

Chadwick Boseman made sure to protect his wife, despite the fact that he didn't have a will before his passing.

Taylor Simone Ledward, married the Black Panther star in secret last year after four years together, has filed a petition for probate.

Late actor Chadwick Boseman had not left behind a will. Luckily, even without a will, as Boseman's wife, Ledward is set to inherit all the actor's assets from his probate estate.

In the papers, she requested a judge to make her an administrator of his estate with limited authority, according to documents obtained by a publication. The actor, who lost his battle to colon cancer on August 28 at the age of 43, died "intestate" - meaning he had no will.

Boseman and Ledward had a very private relationship - they reportedly got engaged in October of past year, and their marriage was only revealed after his death in a statement from his family.

Boseman and Leward reportedly got engaged in October 2019 before getting married sometime in 2020.

They made their red carpet debut at the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards in January that year, with the actor paying tribute to his other half as he accepted the Best Film Ensemble prize for Black Panther, saying: "Simone, you're with me every day". Derrick recalled Boseman telling him, "Man, I'm in the fourth quarter, and I need you to get me out of the game". She mouthed back the words, "I love you". "He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side", the statement revealed.
