B.C.'s top doctor to reveal latest cases, deaths, outbreaks

Covid-19: Six further deaths; 675 new cases with 67 in Meath and 26 in Louth

This beats the north's original record of 12 set on September 15, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), as its new grand total sits at 399 since the pandemic landed in March, 23 of which are considered active with one person in critical care.

On Wednesday, the provincial case count showed that of the new 287 cases across B.C., the Fraser Health region accounts for 67 per cent.

The ongoing rise in COVID-19 cases has also led to flu clinics being delayed, as staffing and resources are needed to help deal with the pandemic first.

There are 19 new clusters at childcare facilities, an increase of 12.

For Tuesday, the most recent data available, the *state* health department reported seven new positive tests, and a positivity rate down even further to 1.2%, well below the state goal of 2%.

"If you are a confirmed case of Covid-19 you must self-isolate for 10 days".

While the Illinois Department of Public Health reports the facility as a current nursing home outbreak, Heritage Health representatives said Wednesday there has been one case since October 22 and the individual is not in the building. The remaining people with COVID-19 are recovering at home in self-isolation.

There has been a total of 1,902 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

"If you have symptoms of Covid-19, you must self-isolate and phone your GP for further advice". That is why there is now a provincial health officer order in place restricting the number of people who can safely be in our homes.

We can still spend time with our friends and family, but right now we must all keep to our "safe six" only or take our events outside, where it is far easier to maintain a safe physical distance.

"Where we are seeing a problem is with gatherings, particularly large celebratory gatherings, in private residences, and we are asking people not to hold those at this time to allow us to flatten the curve back down again", Brodkin said.

Let's save the parties for when it is safe for everyone to celebrate.

Fraser Health has reported 7,529 cases since the start of the pandemic with most of the infections in people aged 20 to 29. If you are organizing a birthday party for your children, only invite those small number of friends from your close social circle, not the entire class or sports team.
