Andy Dalton forced out of Cowboys game after horrifying headshot
Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton exited Sunday's game against Washington in the third quarter after taking a scary hit to the head.
Bostic dove head first into Dalton as the backup QB was sliding to end a scramble for 6 yards up the middle, resulting in brutal head-to-head hit that smacked Dalton's head against the turf.
The quarterback needed help from trainers to get off the field and back into the locker room. where he was diagnosed nearly immediately with a concussion.
Washington was led by its defense, which piled up six sacks to go along with an interception and a forced fumble that turned into a safety, in a dominating 25-3 victory over the Cowboys.
Bostic was penalized with a personal foul and ejected from the game.
But, despite the frightening scene, a Cowboys spokesperson told the team's official website Sunday that Dalton was "alert, in good spirits and feeling much better". Dalton, 32, was being evaluated for a concussion.
The Dallas Cowboys' quarterback was starting his second game in place of Dak Prescott, who is out for the season with a broken ankle.
Ben DiNucci, a rookie from James Madison, replaced Dalton, who completed 9 of 19 passes for 75 yards with an interception before leaving the game.
