Wolves keen on Liverpool Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

LIVERPOOL ENGLAND – MARCH 07

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports this weekend.

"It's just a really exciting moment for me and my family", Jota told Liverpool's website.

The Mirror is claiming that Wolves are hoping to take advantage of Liverpool's recent move to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich by making a bid to bring the England worldwide to Molineux this summer.

Now, with Reds fans still rejoicing the arrival of their new number 6, Liverpool's transfer activity has ramped up once more, agreeing a deal worth up to £45 million for Portuguese forward, Diogo Jota, the Telegraph reporting that the Premier League champions will pay an initial £41m to Wolves with the remainder in add-ons.

He added on the prospect of playing alongside Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino: "They are world-class players. I just want to get started".

As he departs Molineux for Anfield, promising Liverpool defender Ki-Jana Hoever looks set to move in the opposite direction, after the two clubs agreed a fee believed to be close to £10 million.

Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says Jota is "going to the right place" after confirming the player was joining the Premier League champions.

"So we just want to come (to the club), to give our best and hopefully I can become a good option for Liverpool in the future".

"Diogo is unbelievable and everybody knows the relationship we built. What Diogo did for us is absolutely fantastic", he said. We already identified the targets, we know the player we want to bring and now we hope that our plan continues as it previously did.

I think there was no doubt - no doubt about Liverpool being the best team in the league last season by some distance.

The 27-year-old needs to play regular first-team football at this stage of his career and it will be interesting to see if he decides to move on this summer.
