Mazda CX-30 Turbo revealed

Mazda's new CX-30 Turbo will churn 250 hp out of its SkyActiv-G engine

Dubbed the 2.5 Turbo, the new entry will come with standard all-wheel drive when it goes on sale later this year. With the new variant, almost the entire Mazda line-up in the United States will be offered with a turbocharged variant, save for the CX-3 and MX-5.

In new CX-30 flagship, the Skyactiv-G 2,5 Turbo engine delivers 186 kW and 434 N.m when run on 93-octane fuel (or 169 kW and 420 N.m when fed 87-octane petrol).

The 2021 Mazda CX-30 will get a 2.5-litre inline four cylinder turbocharged engine as an option, the company said Thursday. New i-Activsense safety features include Smart City Brake Support Reverse with Rear Cross-Traffic Braking, which can help a driver by automatically applying the brakes when the vehicle is reversing at speeds between 2 to 4 miles per hour if an obstacle or when backing out of a parking space a crossing vehicle is detected.

The 2021 Mazda CX-30 Turbo will become available for "presale" in Mexico on September 24, with keen buyers able to place a reservation on that date.

The CX-30 Turbo will offered with an assortment of i-Activsense safety features including an adaptive front-lighting system, traffic sign recognition technology and a 360° view monitor. Every aspect of the interior is purposely laid out to be intuitive for the driver and its occupants.

The Mazda CX-30 2.5 Turbo gets a few design tweaks, too, with larger tailpipes, gloss black door mirrors, 18-inch black aluminum alloy wheels, and a "TURBO" badge out back on the liftgate. Drivers will also find a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a multi-function steering wheel and a black upper dashboard. The company has announced the new addition but made a decision to postpone revealing all the juicy details - such as performance credentials and pricing.
