Developers have long criticized Apple's commissions of between 15% and 30% on many App Store purchases, its prohibitions on courting customers for outside signs-ups, and what some developers see as an opaque and unpredictable app-vetting process.

As stated earlier, Google and Apple, have already boycotted Epic Games from its respective store, therefore, as the reaction to this, the Epic team has reached a civil court of law for removing their game from the companies app store.

Update: It appears Apple has called Epic's bluff.

"'Epic agreed to the App Store terms and guidelines freely and we're glad they've built such a successful business on the App Store, ' reads Apple's statement".

Epic has become one of the most important game developers in the world on the success of Fortnite, which is available on PC, consoles, and mobile.

"Epic's lawsuit against Google accuses the tech giant of abandoning its idealistic roots and says Android's claim that it's an open ecosystem is a 'broken promise", they add.

Last week, Facebook also admonished Apple for failing to approve its new Facebook Gaming app, telling iPhone users that they would be unable to access some of its key features due to the phonemaker's policies. Epic also made it clear that this direct payment method is just as safe as other alternatives. "Epic empowered a component in its application which was not checked on or affirmed by Apple, and they did as such with the express plan of abusing the Application Store rules in regards to in-application installments that apply to each engineer who sells advanced merchandise or administrations".

In both Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store, "Fortnite" had about 2 million downloads in July 2020, according to mobile analytics firm SensorTower. Its success has been astronomical and it now has more players than Twitter has users.
