Apple's new 'Family Setup' aims to make Apple Watch a kid tracker

It is official, we have a new Apple Watch SE

Other hardware upgrades include a new S6 chip that Apple says is more power-efficient and charges 20 percent faster. We have seen the new Apple Watch Series 6 and a budget-friendly option for new Apple users, or for parents who want to give their kids a new Apple Watch SE, that will also help them keep track of where their kids are with the new Family Setup feature that Apple has also announced during the event. You'll be able to buy the wearable in a variety of new case colors, including blue aluminum and Product RED.

Unveiled alongside Apple Watch Series 6 on Tuesday, the more affordable model packs an egde-to-edge display, a super-speedy S5 processor, fall detection, and more.

The new ‌Apple Card‌ Monthly Installment option for Apple Watch is prominently displayed when making an Apple Watch purchase from the online Apple Store or the Apple Store app. It will also periodically monitor oxygen levels in the background.

The stripped-down SE model misses out on Apple Watch's newest features - as you might expect.

That capability is powered by the Series 6's new blood oxygen sensor, which uses a series of photodiodes and infrared LEDs to measure your oxygen saturation-the amount of oxygen in your blood cells-as you breathe.

You didn't think Apple would stop at just announcing some new watches, did you?

"The Watch face is the most powerful and personal aspect of Apple Watch". The Family plan, which supports up to six family members, includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud storage for $19.95 per month.

Apple Fitness+ - In lieu of going to the local gym, Fitness+ is here with video workouts that integrate with your Apple Watch.

While you can already do most of these activities, including estimating the number of calories burned, etc., with each of your workouts (and certainly without owning an Apple Watch), Fitness+ is a really neat service that will try to make physical exercising as fun and as informative as possible. You don't need special workout equipment, and there are 10 different workouts to take advantage of. It'll cost $9.99 per month, or $79.99 per year, following a free 30-day trial.

In a statement, Apple said the bundle was aimed at existing users of its services and that "customers can discover and enjoy alternatives to every one of Apple's services". But there are lower-tier individual and family plans with fewer services.
