DOOM Eternal DLC 'The Ancient Gods, Part One' teaser trailer

It appears that the Slayer's victory over the legions of Hell in DOOM Eternal led to some serious repercussions, as soon you'll be heading back to the heavens to wage war against new demons, when the upcoming "The Ancient Gods" campaign expansion arrives with Part One. The story will be split into parts, and we'll see some of Part One at ONL.

That was all the info given for this announcement, but Bethesda did reiterate that QuakeCon At Home will be taking place from August 7-9, and that fans should tune in for "information about all the latest Bethesda titles". In Doom Eternal's story expansion, you'll have some divine direction for all that bloodshed.

"Your rampage of destruction saved humanity from extinction, but it came at a cost", says creative director Hugo Martin. We will, however, be able to see it in just a few short weeks.

Bethesda and id Software plan to unveil the campaign expansion, dubbed Doom Eternal - The Ancient Gods, Part One, at the Gamescom Opening Night Live event on August 27, they said in a tweet on Friday. Presumably by ripping and tearing demons.

DOOM Eternal had big shoes to fill after the surprise reboot of the classic DOOM series in 2016, and it met the challenge with aplomb.

Titled The Ancient Gods, the Doom Slayer has a mandate from, umm, The Ancient Gods to restore order to their world.
