BTS nominated in multiple categories for the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards

The pop superstars collaborated on United Kingdom number one single Rain On Me, which is nominated in seven categories.

American singer Ariana Grande is celebrating after being nominated for nine MTV Video Music Award in 2020.

'Rain on Me' is also competing for song of the year, best collaboration, best pop, best cinematography, best visual effects, and best choreography.

Other nominees for Best Pop include Halsey's "You Should Be Sad", Jonas Brothers' "What a Man Gotta Do", Justin Bieber's "Intentions" featuring Quavo, Lady Gaga's "Rain On Me" with Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift's "Lover".

The Other Kpop groups nominated in the best Kpop category include Red Velvet, EXO, and (G) I-DLE.

There are two new categories this year amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic: Best Music Video From Home and Best Quarantine Performance.

Winners are chosen by fans who vote online.

The VMAs will air live on 30 August from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said last month "the event will follow all safety guidelines, including limited or no audience".
