New for model year 2021, the Audi e-tron model lines receive revised packaging, including attractive entry pricing with a new Premium trim level.
The price was the bigger shocker, as Audi said it would be slashing the E-Tron's base price by around $12,000, a move you nearly never see from automakers, and especially by that much. The previously-available Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels carry over, starting at $75,895 and $80,195, respectively. The new price is $9000 or Rs 67,000 lower than the previous model's price.
2021 e-tron starts from $65,900 (MSRP) plus $1,095 of destination charge, which is effectively $59,495 (after deducting $7,500 of federal tax credit).
Audi didn't release detailed specifications, but confirmed E-Tron Premium will have rear privacy glass, a power tailgate and 20-inch wheels with a five-spoke design.
When Roger Penske said that the E-Tron was too expensive in November, Audi pretty much brushed it off, saying that it was happy with E-Tron sales for a vehicle that starts at around $100,000.
The second most important change is the increase of range of e-tron SUV from 204 miles (328 km) EPA to 222 miles (357 km) EPA-estimated. Interested customers can get their Audi RS Q8 reserved online at the company website or can also register their interest at the nearest Audi India dealership. Additionally, Audi says that the front electric motor can be entirely disengaged for 2021. For starters, Audi has increased the usable amount of the battery by nearly 3 kWh up to 86.5 kWh. "The energy buffer is created to help ensure customers enjoy sustained battery performance throughout the life of the vehicle". Only when the driver demands more power or traction do both motors spring into action, providing the surefootedness of Audi quattro® technology and the powerful dynamics Audi is known for. The e-tron lineup also receives a number of technical spec enhancements for improved utility.
