Ozark Ending With Two-Part Season 4 on Netflix

‘Ozark’ Renewed for Fourth and Final Season at Netflix

As uncertainty abounds regarding the how and when of film and television production, there has been no announcement about when season 4 of Ozark will shoot.

Netflix also remains cagey about how things will shake out for the Byrdes in the brief, official synopsis for Ozark season 4: "The new season will mark the final chapter in the Byrde family's journey from suburban Chicago life to their criminal enterprise in the Ozarks".

Season three brought plenty of tragic character deaths but was still well-received by audiences, scoring a very impressive 97% critic score and a 92% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

"I'm excited to end with a bang".

The show, generally speaking, centers on a financial advisor named Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) who becomes a launderer for a Mexican drug cartel.

However Jason and Laura, as well as Sophia Hublitz and Skylar Gaertner who play their children, are all slated to come back as are Lisa Emery and Charlie Tahan.

In the nearer future there is plenty of other content to look forward to on Netflix, including season two of The Umbrella Academy on 31 July and the new Zac Efron travel show Down to Earth with Zac Efron on 10 July. There is no word now on what the plot for season 4 will consist of. "It's been such a great adventure for all of us - both on screen and off - so we're thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible". Linney will also be a co-executive producer for Season 4.

Julia Garner has won an acting Emmy for the program, which has also scored nominations for Jason and Laura as well as for best drama series.

"Ozark" has proven popular with both viewers and critics, with the show garnering 14 Emmy nominations since it debuted in 2017. "We're so grateful to Chris, Jason, Laura, Julia and the entire cast and crew for all their tireless dedication to the show and can't wait to see how the Byrdes' journey comes to a close".
