Johnson holds his nerve to win Travelers Championship

TODD TAKES THE LEAD AT TRAVELERS

Dustin Johnson poses with the trophy after winning the Travelers Championship golf tournament at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. on June 28, 2020.

Kevin Streelman fired a 63 to be third and three shots adrift of Todd while Mackenzie Hughes, who led after a 60 on Thursday, shot his second straight 68 for sole possession of fourth place. Johnson last won in Mexico City in March 2019.

Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus every gained in 17 consecutive several years. "Changes to date include additional testing for those traveling on the charter flight, potential withholding of the stipend program if a player tests positive after not following protocols, and the return next week of the Tour fitness truck to encourage use of on-site facilities". This kept Johnson at even-par for the round.

He concluded at 19-less than 261 for his 21st PGA Tour title.

Gordon, who has no status on either the PGA Tour or the Korn Ferry Tour, had seven birdies in a 64. He acquired a particular short-term card and limitless exemptions for the relaxation of the period. He limited the damage by digging out a bogey and then hit back on the 14th with his sixth birdie of the day, draining a 16-foot putt to take a two-shot lead.

Kim shut with a five-less than 67 to match Park at 18-less than 270 at Pocheon Hills.

Dustin Johnson overcame blunders on the back nine to take his first PGA Tour event in over a year. I'm going to come out tomorrow and give it my best to go low.

Brendon Todd, who had been in the lead after a career low nine-under 61 in the third round, self-destructed on the 12th with a triple bogey and failed to recover. "(Saturday) I did everything really well, today I still felt like I was hitting the ball really well, I just wasn't driving it on the fairway", he told CBS after a final round that featured six birdies and three bogeys. Todd shot a 75 to tie for 11th at 13 under.

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland is tied for 18th at 10-under after an up-and-down 69 on Saturday.

"I'm looking at this week as progress", he said. "I look forward to getting back on tour once it's safe to do so".

The tournament was marred by the coronavirus, with seven Covid-19 related withdrawals and three positive tests among players.

Two more players withdrew because of the coronavirus Friday - Denny McCarthy for a positive test, and Bud Cauley, who tested negative but chose to pull out after playing alongside McCarthy on Thursday. Players, caddies and any other people considered "inside the bubble" will have to test negative before being allowed onto the grounds of the Detroit Golf Club for this week's Rocket Mortgage Classic.
