Glee actress Naya Rivera laid to rest in Los Angeles

NAYA RIVERA AND HER SON

The third season of the baking contest, which will be known as Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet, premieres today in the U.S. and UK.

According to Deadline, the reality series was filmed back in February, shortly before the coronavirus pandemic halted production across the entertainment industry.

The actress was laid to rest on July 24th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles following a drowning accident almost two weeks ago in Lake Piru.

In addition to her run as Glee's Santana, Rivera's acting credits included Devious Maids, Step Up: High Water and The Bernie Mac Show.

Their statement added: "Naya was more than just an actor on our show - she was our friend".

Authorities revealed that while they may never truly know what happened last week when she disappeared, they believe they have enough information to call her a hero.

Her family also acknowledged the people who helped locate her. "Thank you to the men and women of the Ventura, Tulare, and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Departments for your commitment and unwavering effort to find Naya", their statement continued. "After Josey was found, he told investigators that he and his mother had been swimming in the lake, and he got back in the boat, but she did not".

Josey, Rivera's 4-year-old son, was found asleep on the floating vessel when the pontoon boat wasn't returned to the rental company on time.
