Wood Buffalo reports one recovery from COVID-19

Thirty-five per cent of all COVID-19 cases in the province are among people aged 20 to 39 years old.

No new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Peace Region or the North Zone on Monday, as the Province of Alberta added 71 new cases of COVID-19 for June 29.

The Calgary zone has 239 active cases and 4,981 recovered cases while the south zone has 26 active cases and 1,269 recovered cases.

The total number of people who've recovered from the virus is 7,354.

Another patient contracted COVID-19 in the outbreak at Edmonton's Misericordia Community Hospital by Sunday - a total of 11 patients and eight staff members have tested positive. The World Health Organization has reported 495,760 deaths and 9,843,073 cases of COVID-19 globally.

Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw will hold her first news conference of the week on COVID-19 Tuesday afternoon.
