Vivo X50 series coming to India, confirms Vivo CEO

Vivo X50 Pro has a gimbal camera and a periscope lens capable of 60x zoom

The series has three members - the X50, X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ phones - each coming with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.

The X50 series is a realization of vivo's commitment to user-centric design and innovation.

It sounds similar to OIS (optical image stabilization) we've seen on many smartphone previously, but we'll need to wait for more information on the system before we're able to comment on it fully.

The X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ both have a quad camera setup on the back, with a periscope lens that allows up to 60x optical/digital zoom mix.

Vivo may well be talking up the cameras on its new X50 series, but it's also packed in another feature into a seriously slim form factor. Vivo has told us that "the X50 series will be available gradually in global markets in the second half of this year". Bottom line: expect clear photos from the Vivo X50 Pro, even if you're moving about. Vivo says the system widens the rotation angle, as well as the anti-shake area, compared to other stabilization methods. On the front, there's a single selfie camera in a punch-hole cutout.

The X50 series features Super Night Mode and Astro Mode, which together enable users to capture stunning photographs of both city and country scenes at night, while Super Wide-Angle and Super Macro functions help create professional-quality photos in a wide range of scenarios. vivo's Portrait Mode, powered by a 4-layer masking algorithm, allows users to separate the subject from the background and apply separate effects for a more refined result. The X50 and X50 Pro are built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip and sport a screen refresh rate of 90 Hz, while the X50 Pro+ rocks a Snapdragon 865 processor and 120-Hz refresh rate.

Further, they are expected to feature 90Hz Full-HD+ AMOLED screen, with the X50 housing a flat 6.56-inch display, while the Pro model offering a 6.7-inch curved panel.

Designed with the needs of consumers in mind, TWS Earphone Neo also feature AI noise cancelling for clearer phone calls and several voice-activated smart controls. The earphones use large 14.2mm drivers and support Bluetooth 5.2 for an extended connectivity range.
