Rory Mc Ilroy Travelers Championship

Dustin Johnson fired a three-under-par 67 to claim a one-shot victory at the Travelers Championship and keep his tournament win-streak alive on Sunday.

The victory means Johnson has now won at least one tournament in each of the 13 seasons he has been on the PGA Tour, a feat matched only by an elite group of players that includes Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and Tiger Woods.

He took the lead on the ninth after drilling a 126-yard second shot to within five feet of the pin before rolling in the simplest of birdie putts.

Johnson came out of the delay and hit his tee shot on 16 into a greenside bunker.

Johnson started the day two strokes behind Brendon Todd, and took the lead after three straight birdies put him at 20 under after 10 holes.

The back-to-back birdies put the product of Dundas, Ont., into a tie for third with American Will Gordon at 17 under on Sunday, and two shots back of eventual victor Dustin Johnson.

Special finish: With his final-round 64 and T-3 finish, Will Gordon racked up enough non-member FedExCup points to earn special temporary status on the PGA Tour. Todd shot a 75 to tie for 11th at 13 under. Playing this week on a sponsor's exemption, Gordon, the 2019 SEC Player of the Year out of Vanderbilt, carded rounds of 66-62-71-64 to open up his playing options for the rest of the summer, as he is now allowed to accept an unlimited number of exemptions through the remainder of the season. He made a 7 on the par-4 12th.

Bryson DeChambeau shot a 68 to tie for sixth at 15-under.

"I felt like I gave myself really good birdie opportunities on every hole", Johnson said. I hit a lot of good shots, hit a lot of good tee shots.

Frittelli, now ranked No. 105 in the world, competed at this week's Travelers Championship, where golfers Cameron Champ and Denny McCarthy and caddies for Brooks Koepka and Graeme McDowell all tested positive for COVID-19.

Nick Watney received a positive test before his second round at Hilton Head, while Cameron Champ tested positive before the Travelers Championship and Denny McCarthy after his first round at the TPC River Highlands.

Dylan Frittelli became the fourth PGA Tour player to test positive for the coronavirus and had to withdraw from the Rocket Mortgage Classic next week in Detroit.

"We're making several adjustments to our health and safety plan as noted in the memo sent to players this morning, and we will continuously reinforce to all players, caddies, staff members and support personnel on property at PGA Tour events to adhere to social distancing and other safety professionals that further minimize risk".
