Report iPhone 12 Won't Include a Charger or EarPods

As MacRumors reports, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also stated that Apple is manufacturing a 20W charger for the next iPhone, but it won't be included in the box with the handset.

While removing the charger and EarPods from the box would be a bold move by Apple, the company can point to the positive environmental impact of doing so.

While most iPhone 12 concepts so far have focussed on Apple's traditional "pro" iPhone colours (gold, silver and grey), ConceptsiPhone's is one of the first to show off the potential rainbow of colours we could be in store for with the standard iPhone 12: purple, white, orange, green, black, (product) red, and blue. Meanwhile, rumours previously suggested that Apple may ship a 20W fast charging adapter with the iPhone 12.

Kuo says that the decision is made for pricing reasons.

The controversial move will apparently offset the production costs that Apple will incur from supporting 5G in its devices, and could see the iPhone 12 feature a comparable price to that of the iPhone 11.

From earlier leaks the upcoming iPhone 12 series will include four different models with various specifications - iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max. Analysts at British bank Barclays (via MacRumours) have predicted that the only bundled accessory will be the Lightning to USB-C cable.

Last week images of a 20W iPhone charger leaked, suggesting Apple meant to ship the iPhone 12 with a more powerful adapter. Apple latest chips are the A13 Bionic in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, and the A12Z in the iPad Pro 2020. Going by Kuo's predictions, a 10.8-inch iPad and 8.5-inch iPad mini means both tablets will have a larger display than their predecessors.
