According to the survey, conducted by Datapraxis and YouGov from late April to the first week of May out across nine European Union countries, over 60 per cent of respondents in Germany, France, Spain, Denmark and Portugal revealed they had lost trust in the U.S. as a global leader. In the USA, new cases are on a steep upward trajectory.

'We, however, could not expect much as COVID-19 situation in Bangladesh is not good compared to the European Union mark, ' said the official with reference to the World Health Organisation data.

More than a dozen states have now paused or rolled back their reopening plans as the U.S. sees a surge in coronavirus cases.

Surprisingly, India was named on the list despite being the fourth most coronavirus infected country in the world with cases over 545,000 and more than 16,000 deaths.

The list of countries outside the Schengen area proposed at a diplomatic meeting on Friday evening include Algeria, Australia, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.

At the same time, the Commission recommended that the Member States should start allowing third-country nationals to enter the European Union starting from July 1, gradually and partially, based on the epidemiological situation in each third-country.

It is known that Brazil, the United States of America and Russian Federation are on the red list, that is, their citizens are banned to enter Europe.

Regarding the epidemiological situation, third countries listed should meet several criteria, including the number of new Covid-19 cases, stable or decreasing trend of new cases, as well as the third country's overall response to Covid-19. In Florida, on-premises alcohol consumption was suspended in bars statewide and in Arizona, many businesses are shutting for at least 30 days.

The EU cannot agree on a list of "safe countries" from where travellers could visit Europe in July, with some member states requiring more time to decide, diplomats said Saturday (27 June).

This requires that countries allowed entry have coronavirus infection rates equal to or better than the EU.

But for now, the USsimply does not meet the criteria.
