Apple's 2020 iPhone Launch Could Be Delayed

The main cause for this delay may be the ongoing pandemic since it has produced travel bans, but you can also include a redesign of Apple's mmWave antenna that could even make the iPhone 12 arrive with sub-6GHz 5G connectivity.

Both the 6.1- and the 5.4-inch 2020 iPhones are projected to enter the mass production in September, which means they could be ready later the same month the earliest.

We are still months away from the expected launch of Apple's next-gen iPhones.

MacRumors reports that Kuo said the 5G iPhones rumored for this fall have a potential delay risk. With a starting price of just $399, the iPhone SE has muscled in squarely on phones like the Pixel 4a.

Kuo also talked about the arrival of the latest iPhone SE and how its demand is higher than expected. The iPhone XR was released in October 2018. The new iPhone SE Plus model, which got leaked in the recent iOS 14 code, has likely been delayed by a year as well. However, Apple has certainly struck a chord in the smartphone market with the iPhone SE, generating a massive amount of buzz over on our sister site Android Central and across the wider web. The Verge reports that the analyst said back in December that the phone would have a 5.5-inch or 6.1-inch screen and use a Touch ID sensor located inside the power button.

At that time, the analyst predicted that the larger iPhone SE would come out in the first half of 2021.

The second-generation iPhone SE looks like the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (which have both been discontinued) though it comes with some upgraded internals including Apple's A13 Bionic processor.

CIRP's new data covers the first quarter of 2020 (January-March) and it says that in the states, the iPhone 11 family accounted for 66% of total iPhone sales in the USA during that time period.

The iPhone SE went on to be a nice little success story for Apple.

Needless to say, if you want a cheap iPhone with excellent specs, the iPhone SE 2 is an appealing option.
