On Wednesday, however, Amanda Kloots announced on Instagram that her husband's health was declining. After being placed in a medically induced coma, Cordero underwent a leg amputation operation and experienced lung damage before waking from the coma on May 12.
"We did learn that due to COVID, Nick's lungs are severely damaged to look nearly like he's been a smoker for 50 years, they said, they're that damaged", she said in an Instagram story at the time. "Nick Cordero is fighting. Thank you and keep praying".
