Fitbit brings GPS, Spotify to the Charge 4

Fitbit Charge 4

Fitbit Charge 4 has been launched in India and comes with some new and advanced features.

The device also comes with 24/7 heart rate tracking, all-day calorie burn, guided breathing sessions, health monitoring for women, automatic exercise tracking, and in-depth sleep monitoring that tracks sleep stages and offers an overall Sleep Score.

You can pre-order the Charge 4 now on Fitbit's site, Amazon, Walmart, or Best Buy. It was launched on Wednesday, and will go on sale worldwide sometime this month and will be available in both online and offline stores. Fitbit has also announced new accessory bands and colours for the Charge 4, which includes REPREVE recycled woven reflective bands in midnight and rosewood, silicone sport bands in evergreen and frost white; and premium Horween hand-crafted leather in black. Last year, the company was acquired by Google for a neat $US2.1 ($3) billion-a move that left some longtime Fitbit users wary about their data privacy.

The Fitbit Charge 4 costs $150 and is available now for preorder. Fitbit Charge 4 is a sleek, swimproof tracker with built-in GPS, Active Zone Minutes, and sleep tracking.

On the hard specs front, there's a three-axis accelerometer, altimeter, an optical heart rate monitor, an SpO2 monitor, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC for Fitbit Pay. The bigger draw here though is the built-in Global Positioning System. If during a workout, the activity zone is changed, users will be provided with real-time alerts on the same.

Fitbit Charge 4 has a touchscreen display that's apparently bright enough for viewing in daylight.

Sleep Tracking: Previously only on its smartwatches, Fitbit is bringing its Smart Wake feature to the Charge 4, which the company says uses machine learning to know the best time to rouse you from your slumber.

Fitbit have revealed a brand new wearable to join you on your exercises with music streaming from Spotify.

The first Fitbit tracker with Spotify - Connect & Control, Charge 4 helps you stay motivated with your favorite playlists and songs with easy-to-access music controls that let you choose the music output, play, shuffle and skip content, and like songs right from the wrist.

The Fitbit Charge 4 includes Fitbit Pay, the company's prepaid wallet that works with cards from almost 500 issuers in 44 countries worldwide. You earn credit for each minute of moderate activity - regardless of what type of workout you're doing - and double the credit for vigorous activity. You still get up to seven days of battery life on a single charge, female health tracking, call/text/app notifications from your phone, and a sleek design that's waterproof up to 50M.

The Fitbit Charge 4 looks a lot like the Charge 3, but there's an exciting new feature you can't see - built-in Global Positioning System.

With built-in GPS, Fitbit wearers no longer have to take their phones out on a bike ride, hike, or run to record their heart rate, distance, and speed.
