Kathy Griffin slams Trump from hospital bed: 'He's lying'

Comedian actress Kathy Griffin said on Twitter that she’d been hospitalized with coronavirus-like symptoms

The comedian's hospitalization comes one week after the death of her 99-year-old mother, Maggie Griffin.

In a selfie posted to Twitter and Instagram, she's seen lying in bed with an oxygen mask.

In a quote tweet replying to the president, Griffin accused Trump of lying about how many coronavirus tests the United States has performed amid the ongoing pandemic that has claimed thousands of lives as it continues to spread around the world.

NPR reported that the United States had surpassed South Korea in coronavirus tests, but added that the latter surpassed the U.S.in per capita testing.

Kathy Griffin is calling out President Trump over a lack of COVID-19 test kits from an isolation ward where she says she's battling "UNBEARABLY PAINFUL symptoms".

The 59-year-old, who is now in a hospital isolation ward room receiving treatment, said she still couldn't get tested because of CDC restrictions.

According to Griffin, her situation appears to highlight the hypocrisy in the President's statement and flaws in how his administration has been handling the global health crisis since she was symptomatic yet still unable to get tested. With 709 reported cases in the country, healthcare workers are under strain and struggling to keep up with the number of people coming in for testing.
