With the release date for the next Half-Life now set, hype is certain to mount as launch day continues to inch closer. It will all start with the new SteamVR home with environments that are inspires by HLA. Now we just know the exact day it's coming.
The much anticipated sequel to the classic 2004 game Half Life 2, Half Life: Alyx, is finally confirmed to launch on Steam on 23 March.
In the screenshots above, we see what the game looks like in action, with the easiest thing to notice being the sheer level of quality and detail Valve is striving for here.
The upcoming VR-exclusive entry in the long dormant franchise, Half-Life: Alyx will be releasing March 23, 2020 for all PC-compatible VR headsets. Players will step into the shoes of Alyx Vance, one of the most iconic characters in the series as they fight for humanity's survival.
Also recall that Half-Life: Alyx compatible with such platforms, mixed reality, as the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift's Oculus Quest, Pimax and Windows Mixed Reality.

Half-Life: Alyx covers the time between Half-Life and Half-Life 2, and serves as a prequel to the latter game. Players will lean to aim around a broken wall and under a Barnacle to make an impossible shot. "Tear a headcrab off your face and throw it out the window".
All the game's VR tools and components on the Source 2 engine will be available on the Steam Workshop and Valve's level authoring tool, Hammer, allowing creative members of the community to design and share levels with everyone else.
