A report surfaced on Thursday morning that the Lions have been talking to teams about a trade of quarterback Matthew Stafford and it didn't take long for the team to respond to that report.

WDIV-TV reports the Lions have been engaged in trade talks for several weeks.

According to Quinn, Stafford isn't going anywhere. The move saved Detroit $9 million in 2020 cap space but also pushed Stafford's dead-money figure to $32 million, per Spotrac.

He played only eight games last season after suffering a back injury, but it was hist first time missing games since 2010.

Second, Quinn and head coach Matt Patricia were put on notice by Lions ownership in December. Stafford led the Lions to a 3-4-1 record while throwing for 2,499 yards, 19 touchdowns, and five interceptions.

Stafford's wife, Kelly, came across that article as well, so she immediately went to Instagram and sounded off about where she wanted her husband to go since the Lions don't seem to want him anymore.

Could the Detroit Lions trade quarterback Matthew Stafford with an eye on taking a quarterback in the 2020 National Football League draft, in which they own the third overall pick?
