Sony Pictures Rumored To Be Developing A 'Spider-Woman' Movie

Wow, Looks Like Sony Has Another Spider-Man Spinoff In The Works

As of late though, we've also seen October become a priority for the studio's Spider-Man spinoff plans, thanks to Venom's massive success with its October 1 debut back in 2018.

While Spider-Man is shared with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony is mining the hero's ancillary characters.

A new rumor coming from Daniel Richtman's Patreon page (via MCUCosmic) suggests that Sony Pictures is now developing a Spider-Woman movie.

For background, Sony owns the rights to the Spider-Man universe from Marvel, while Disney's Marvel Studios takes care of the Avengers side of things.

He tweeted yesterday: "Sony's web continues to grow". Whereas we clearly don't know what Sony Spidey spinoff it's, we do know what it isn't - particularly the following canon-adjacent providing, Morbius, which is set in stone for July 31 of this 12 months.

Sony previously wanted to make a Sinister Six movie back in 2016, but that film was canceled after the disappointment of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Over the years, Sony has consistently released Spider-Man films. The film's opposition is with Spider-Man 2, The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man, and all the credits go to its record. However director Jon Watts mentioned he actually needed to see Kraven the Hunter within the film.

Sony might not have released the movie description or the plot synopsis of Morbius, but it looks like a leaked plot for the upcoming Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters movie ties the film together with Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and with Venom (Tom Hardy).

The Oscar-winning 2018 animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced moviegoers to a multiverse with infinite spider-powered people.

Then in 2015, he echoed similar comments when speaking with Mic asking when is culture going to reach a point "where we can have a pansexual Spider-Man".
