Lauren Graham To Star In Original Disney+ Series 'The Mighty Ducks'

Lauren Graham stars in a series of Mighty Ducks for Disney

Graham will star as Alex alongside Brady Noon, who will be playing her son Evan.

It's rebooting "The Mighty Ducks" - the film franchise focused on young, Twin Cities hockey players - in the form of a 10-episode series for the streaming platform Disney+. Now, she's been tapped to play the coach in a TV version of "The Mighty Ducks".

"The Mighty Ducks" is produced by ABC Signature Studios, a part of Disney Television Studios. The Disney+ series is a continuation of the film franchise that spawned three movies, one animated TV series, and a real-world National Hockey League hockey team. Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa are also co-creators and are set to showrun.

Graham is also starring in NBC's new musical show Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist with Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, Mary Steenburgen, and Peter Gallagher.

Lauren Graham is hitting the ice for Disney+.

For six years, the "Gilmore Girls" actress has been dating Roseville-raised Peter Krause, her former co-star on "Parenthood". She can now be seen recurring on the new NBC musical dramedy series Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist.

James Griffiths and Michael Spiller will serve as executive producers on "The Mighty Ducks" with Griffiths directing.

Noon recently starred in feature comedy Good Boys. Steve Brill, the original creator, writer and executive producer of all three films, which spawned an National Hockey League franchise, is back as co-creator and executive producer of the new series. Noon is with Gersh Agency and Marilyn Zitner Management. George Heller and Brad Petrigala of Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Jordan Kerner also serve as non-writing executive producers.
