News Ubisoft Reveals ‘Prince of Persia’ VR Escape Room

The Dagger of Time is a brand-new game in the Prince of Persia franchise that's making its way to VR pretty soon.

Ubisoft has announced Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time, a four-player VR escape room game. It is the third location-based VR escape room and part of Ubisoft's most successful game series (IP). The VR experience promised by the transalpine gaming giant will be based on the already available escape room activities of Beyond Medusa's Gate and Escape the Lost Pyramidboth set in the Assassin's Creed universe. To escape, teams will need to work together and figure out how to escape a reimagined Fortress of Time.

In India, you can experience The Dagger of Time in Mumbai at the VR Gamezone. Ubisoft is right to be proud, if this new escape room VR is half as popular as its previous ones, it'll be a hit.

Summoned by Kaileena, the Empress of Time, players are tasked with helping to stop a Magi attempting to create an army of Sand Monsters. Price of Persia will have a unique mechanic though, with the Dagger of Time being able to bend and shape reality to create a "one of a kind" experience.

Fans have pointed out that Assassin's Creed games usually drop before Christmas so it's likely that one of three games to drop this year will be the rumours Vikings-themed game.

The Prince of Persia franchise peaked in popularity in the 2000s - you may even have seen the movie, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, which released in 2010. When they do so, we added some visual and audio cues so the other players also realize that time is being manipulated. "The Sands of Time series seemed to be the ideal fit, because it not only offers a fantasy setting, but the original games also come with many elements that fit perfectly into VR, such as puzzles and, of course, using powers such as time control".
