Cuomo says he'll ask Trump to reverse move on Global Entry

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf previously said that allowing federal authorizes to access the DMV database is the only way that NY residents can regain their access to Global Entry and similar Trusted Traveler programs.

The governor and the president are expected to sit down together at the White House at 3 pm to discuss the Trump administration's ban on New Yorkers from taking party in the Trusted Traveler Program - that speeds up the process for citizens returning to the U.S. from overseas.

"I will never give them access to the DMV database, but, for the TTP enrollees on a case-by-case basis, that's different", he said.

New York's lawsuit claims the Trump administration's decision was meant to punish the state for enacting a law that lets immigrants in the country illegally get drivers licenses and bars federal immigration agents from accessing state motor vehicle records. "I'll give it to you". I believe they're going to say no because there's a memo leaked from the Department of Homeland Security, which they agree is a memo from the agency, which says we need to punish these states.

White House representatives confirmed the meeting with Cuomo is slated for Thursday.

It looks like NY is the new Ukraine.

"I'm seeing Governor Cuomo today at The White House". Cuomo said he would only propose giving federal officials access to the state driving records of applicants to traveler programs who undergo a sit-down interview with federal officials and supply documents such as a passport.

Javier H. Valdés, the co-executive director of Make the Road New York, an immigrant activist group, urged the governor to fight for the state's immigrant rights when he meets with Trump. We've covered the law and AGs' reactions to it extensively here at Townhall.

This comes a day after New York Attorney General Letitia James sued DHS for the ban, claiming that it was "political retribution" for the Green Light Law.
