"Hello. Today I am here to share something with you that I've always wanted to share with you one day but under my own circumstances and it looks like that chance has been taken away from me", Nikkie de Jager, better known as NikkieTutorials, starts her YouTube video in which she comes out as transgender.

The social media star - who has 12.4 million subscribers on YouTube and 12.9 million followers on Instagram - posted a video on Monday revealing that she is transgender.

"If you want to put a label on it, yes, I am transgender", she said, "but at the end of the day, I am me". She revealed she was being blackmailed and this was the only way to take back her power.

She then added: "Planet earth is full of labels and I never felt comfortable with labels". "So to the people who tried to blackmail me and thought that they could really mess up my life with that, this one's for you".

Though the YouTuber says she fully transitioned by the age of 19, she chose to share her journey for the first time in 2020 after allegedly being blackmailed by people who threatened to share her story with the press. She said: "When my mum was pregnant, she told me that she was convinced she was having a little girl and little did she know that she was actually having a girl. Nothing changes about that", she added. Unfortunately, she says that someone is threatening to tell her story without her consent so she needed to get ahead of it. She said the birth of a baby boy was a surprise to her mom and "definitely a surprise to me as soon as I had brains to think with". "A parent that understands and listens and respects", she said in the "I'm Coming Out" video. This world needs us.

While it's infuriating she was forced to make this video, it's incredible to see her living her true self out and proud. "This was my free world where I could truly be me, and you guys didn't judge me for anything".

"I have been blackmailed by people who wanted to leak my story to the press", de Jager said. It was frightening to know that there are people out there that are so evil that they can not respect someone's true identity. "Because I know people are going to ask, yes I got fully transitioned by the time I was 14".

"It doesn't matter what type of label someone belongs to, what kind of hair color someone has, the type of clothing they wear, their height, their weight, their size, the way they look, the way they want to express themselves", she advocated. It is vile and it is gross.
